How to Find a Phone Number

A few years back I came upon an accident scene where a young lady rolled her car. Apart from being in shock, she wasn't hurt. After I comforted her and waited for the medical personnel/ambulance to get there I went on my way, only realizing I would really like to send the lady a bunch of flowers. But I did not have her number. How am I going to get it? I knew her last name and where she attended school. So I looked her up in the phone directory at the local university and sent a short message to all the numbers listed with her last name asking if they were the person who was in an accident. It was to no avail. I then ordered a bunch of flowers and made arrangements for the flowers to be delivered to the university with a message from me, asking for her name and number. A few days later I got a phone call from her saying thank you for helping her that day. There, I suddenly had her number. Even her mom phoned me and said thank you. That was all the contact I ever had from them. I never contacted them again. That is how to find a phone number for a stranger if you have some of their basic information.
