Find a Person to send a subpoena

I used a people search service that I found online for work purposes. My boss asked me to find a person to send a subpoena. I needed additional information on a party to a law suit online the quickest way that I could. He suggested a website that we have used in the past but encouraged me to browse for additional websites that may be more efficient and cost effective.
I initially googled the services and selected one that was advertised online as "free." I used the service in order to find the address to which I needed to send a subpoena and also to confirm the individual's full name in order to perform a public records search so that I could request information regarding criminal background history, prior addresses and other personal public record information.
The online service was advertised as "free" but after I entered the information that it asked for and it performed the search it required payment before it would release anything beyond very basic information. I did not pay the asking price because I was annoyed that a website would advertise "free" searches and then attempt to extort money out of its customers. I wasted my time on the website due to its lack of candor and false advertising and I have not used it again in my personal life or professional career.
