I am a girl from Delhi. There have been many times when I needed to look up the owner of a mobile number.

Recently, I accidentally dialed a wrong number. From then on I started receiving many calls and messages from the owner of this number.It was extremely irritating as I did not wish to speak to this person.

Despite repeated requests and pleas not to disturb me the person kept calling and messaging. I even threatened to contact the police if he did not stop to no avail. However, registering an official complaint with the police in India is a very tedious process since it requires many visits to the police station. Also, the experience of going to a police station is unsavory and every one here tries to avoid it as much as they can.

At that moment, I really wished I could have the identity of the person behind this number. This would have made contacting and addressing him personally a lot easier. I reasoned that if I knew his name and address I could reach him or any member of his family and persuade them to talk some sense into this man.

This would be a lot easier than dealing with the police. I got hold of this information from the service provider of the cell phone service on special request and was able to threaten him on the phone by telling him I would send my brother or the police to his address if he did not stop calling me.

This tactic was of great help as he never dared to call me again after the threat. I was very satisfied with the outcome since I really did not wish to visit a police station to handle this person.

Since, incidents like these are a common occurrence there must be a solution to tackle them like this. I was very grateful to the service provider for providing me the name of the owner of this number.
